TRINIDAD CUBAN CIGARS
Trinidad cigars are named after the beautiful city of La Santísima Trinidad (The Holy Trinity), which was built in the 16th century and is located on the south coast of Cuba and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Trinidad dates back to 1969 as a Habanos brand. Like the Cohiba, it was initially made exclusively for the Cuban leadership and as a gift for foreign diplomats. It was only in 1998 that it was presented to the international public.
At first there was only one format of the Trinidad – the mythical Fundadores. Later, towards the end of 2003, three other formats were added – Reyes, Coloniales and Robustos Extra. All three are “tripa larga, totalmente a mano” – long fillers made entirely by hand. The formats of the Trinidad brand are all unique and do not appear in any other Habanos brand.
The Trinidads were created in El Laguito, the cigar factory where the Cohibas are made. They consist of special mixtures of selected tobacco leaves from the best Vegas Finas de Primera (first quality plantations) in the Vuelta Abajo region and are known for their variety of classic flavors.
