Some say that the brand name refers to the piece “The Bridge of San Luis Rey” by Thornton Wilder, which was popular at the time. However, it is more likely that it is dedicated to the city of San Luis in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo tobacco region, the area of which is still producing excellent wrappers for Habanos.
Whatever the truth, Saint Luis Rey cigars enjoy an excellent reputation among cigar lovers due to the intense taste of all formats. They are made from leaves from the Vuelta Abajo and Semi Vuelta regions.
All formats are ‘totalmente a mano, tripa larga’ – long fillers made entirely by hand.
